There are number of simple things you can do around your home to reduce its vulnerability to crime. As minimum security steps consider the following:

• Ensure your home always looks occupied

• Don't hide keys to your home or cars anywhere outside

• Lock doors and windows at all times

• Engrave and photograph your valuables, record serial numbers

• Use alarm systems and motion activated lighting to deter intruders

• Trim plants around your home where an intruder could hide

• Keep wallets and handbags away from windows and doors

• Tell the Police about any suspicious activity

• Get crime deterrent information from the City's Safer Nedlands Officer
