Town Planning Scheme No. 2 (current)
The City of Nedlands Town Planning No. 2 is the primary statutory document for the control and development of land in the City. The Scheme divides the land into zones (eg Residential, Office/Showroom, Light Industrial) and indicates the type of land uses which may be considered within each zone.
The Town Planning Scheme, in addition to Council Policies and the Residential Design Codes of Western Australia provide detailed provisions to guide the form and scale of any development or redevelopment.

Town Planning Scheme Amendments
Application for rezoning requires an amendment to the City's Town Planning Scheme. It requires lodgment of an application stating details of current zoning and proposal, including justification.
Scheme Amendment process is subject to the Town Planning Regulations and the process may take up to 12 months from initiation to final approval.
Prior to lodgment of rezoning application, it is recommended that applicants liaise and consult with Council's Planning Officers.
An application fee is required prior to assessment and consideration of any application lodged
