Justices of the peace (JP's) volunteer their services to provide an integral link in the judicial system. Justices of the peace are appointed by the Governor to perform official administrative and judicial duties within the community.
Justices of the peace are regularly called upon by the Police to sign search warrants and authorise the issuing of summonses. Their administrative tasks include witnessing affidavits and documents such as wills and statutory declarations.
A JP Service is now available every Wednesday from 9.30 am to 12 pm at Nedlands Library, 60-64 Stirling Highway, Nedlands.
