Sound is a part of everyday life, however where sound becomes irritating, intrusive or unpleasant it may be regarded as noise.
Noise is a form of pollution that has the potential to adversely impact upon the health and well being of any person receiving the noise.
To ensure that the amenity of the City is maintained for all residents, Environmental Health Officers are available to investigate complaints regarding noise in accordance with the Environmental Protection (Noise) Regulations 1997.
The State Government sets maximum acceptable noise levels to ensure consistency across the State and protection of the community from adverse noise impacts.
