Volunteering in Nedlands

The City of Nedlands Volunteer programme aims to build a stronger community through active engagement with the City’s organisations, schools and Community groups and provide support for their volunteering needs and aspirations.

City of Nedlands Volunteer Resource Centre

The Nedlands Volunteer Resource Centre is a central point in the community for information on all things related to volunteering such as:
  • Volunteer opportunities
  • Personalised referral for individuals and small groups;
  • Assistance to community groups with the recruitment of volunteers;
  • Information on human resource management for volunteers; and
  • Support with setting up employee volunteer programs.

If you would like to know more about volunteering please contact the City of Nedlands to arrange an appointment for an informal interview where we will help match your availability, interests and skills with a suitable volunteer position.

No obligation, just free friendly advice.

Individuals making a difference

For some volunteering may simply be a couple of hours on a regular basis each week, for others it might be a whole weekend just once a year for a special event. Whether you are a student or young person looking for valuable work experience, a parent at home with some time on your hands, a senior with a lifetime of knowledge and experience to contribute or even a full time employee in an organisation that offers its employees time out to volunteer, there is a volunteering opportunity for you.

Within the City itself there are a variety of volunteer positions ranging from walking group leaders and crèche assistants to youth leaders, bus drivers, library assistants and even administrative positions at the volunteer centre itself.

The City recognises the value and importance of the work carried out by its dedicated team of volunteers and would like to thank each and every one.

Community Groups

For information and to register your organisation please contact the City. Benefits of registering include:

  • Registration of your volunteer positions on our referral database;
  • Opportunities to increase the profile of your agency in the Community;
  • Access to resources on best practices for volunteer management; and
  • Invitation to our network meetings for managers of volunteers.
