An application must be submitted to the City for approval prior to the demolition of whole or part of a building or structure.
Prior to the issuing of a Demolition Licence, a rat baiting program must be carried out and documentary evidence produced to confirm baiting. Baits must be placed in ceilings, subfloor spaces and outbuildings at least 7 days prior to demolition by a registered pest control company. Alternatively, a fee may accompany your application and the City will arrange the baiting for you.
It is the demolition contractor’s responsibility to ensure all services are disconnected prior to the demolition of the building.
If the building to be demolished contains radioactive exit or other self-luminous signs or ionisation smoke detectors incorporating radioactive sources these devices must be removed and disposed of by Radiological Council approved procedures
