Development and land use proposals on properties are required to be assessed and approved via a Development (Planning) Application. Please refer to the Do I Need Approval link to determine which development proposals require an application.
All Development Applications are assessed against the City of Nedlands Town Planning Scheme No.2, the Residential Design Codes of WA 2010 and relevant City Policies (see Related Links).
Should your development plans be larger than A3 please provide a digital version with your application.
With the introduction of the Building Act 2011 being imminent, and as that legislation does not allow Building Applications to be delayed for planning reasons, the City is unable to issue conditions for amended plans to demonstrate compliance for any planning reason. To avoid delays, please ensure all issues are resolved at the planning application phase.
The City of Nedlands Neighbourhood Consultation Policy requires some applications for planning approval to be advertised to adjoining neighbours for either 14 or 21 days. Due to many residents being away on holidays, please be advised that from Monday 17 December 2012 to Sunday 13 January 2013, the City will not advertise these planning approvals during this period.
