The City of Nedlands Municipal Heritage Inventory (MHI) was adopted by Council after Community consultation in April 1999. It is a list of places considered by the Nedlands community to have heritage significance. The full document in two volumes contains folios of details of the properties, their heritage significance and their allocated management category.
The list is an index to the full City of Nedlands Municipal Heritage Inventory which is available for public access at the City’s Administration or the Nedlands Library. Some of the places in the list are also entered onto other lists or registers maintained by the City or other heritage organisations. These are shown in the Index.
For sites listed with a HCWA designation, please contact the Heritage Council. When intending to develop or alter significant fabric of properties on the MHI, owners of property on the list are invited to discuss their proposal with City’s Planning Officers at the earliest opportunity, preferably before the submission of a Development Application.
A set of five management categories was formulated with management recommendations assigned to each property in the Municipal Heritage Inventory (A-E). The designations of these can be found in the MHI Category List. Please consult the City’s Planning Department for the scope of the information required in a Heritage Assessment/Impact Statement as indicated in Category B and C in the MHI Category List.
