KidSport

Overview

KidSport will make it possible for Western Australian children to participate in community sport and recreation, regardless of their financial circumstances. The program provides eligible families with up to $200 annually for each of their children aged between five and eighteen years, to subsidise fees to join a sport and recreation club.

The cities of Subiaco and Nedlands have recently formed a partnership with the Department of Sport and Recreation, signing up for the KidSport program, which is part of the department's larger $20 million Sport 4 All initiative aiming to build stronger, healthier, happier and safer communities.

What are the eligibility criteria?

1.  Applicants must be aged five to eighteen years.
2.  Applicants must have a Health Care Card or Pension Concession Card or be referred by a referral agent such as a school, juvenile justice team, government agency or health practitioner
3.  Applicants' primary place of residence must be in the City of Subiaco or the City of Nedlands.
4.  Applicants are required to register with a club that is in their local government area.
How to apply?
• Application forms can be obtained from the cities of Subiaco and Nedlands' websites (see brochure and application form linked), administration centres, from a sport or recreation club or a referral agent (e.g. Teacher)
• A parent/guardian needs to fill in the application and take it to be validated at the local government administration centre in which they reside
• A photocopy of the Health Care Card or Pension Concession Card must be attached

The parent/guardian must take the validated voucher to the sport or recreation club for processing when registering their children.  The club will then invoice either the City of Subiaco or the City of Nedlands. It’s that easy!

Information for clubs
Clubs within the City of Nedlands will need to register online to become a KidSport registered club for participants to be able to join the program and claim KidSport funding.

To register as a participating club, please follow the ‘How to’ guide in the below link.
