Citizenship ceremonies are hosted by the Mayor three times a year. The pledge of commitment taken during the ceremony is the final step in becoming an Australian citizen.
A letter of invitation from the City is sent out to all eligible candidates approximately 5 weeks prior to the next ceremony date. Candidates must RSVP by the specified date to confirm a place at the ceremony.
City of Nedlands residents are eligible to attend once they have completed the application process and received a letter of approval from the Department of Home Affairs.
For more information regarding citizenship ceremonies please refer to the Department of Home Affairs’ website, phone the Citizenship Information Line 131 880 or contact ceremony.wa@homeaffairs.gov.au
The City of Nedlands acknowledges the traditional custodians of this land, the Wadjak people of the Nyoongar Nation, and pays respect to the Elders both past and present.
