Biography 

Deputy Mayor Leo McManus’s was first elected in 2011.

When Deputy Mayor Leo McManus first joined the Council he decided his focus would be on developing long-term measurable financial practices for the City. Deputy Mayor MacManus is a keen advocate for creating vibrant and liveable communities for the City’s youth and senior communities. He is keenly interested in ensuring traffic and parking management.

Deputy Mayor MacManus is retired after a long career in Banking and Finance and prior to retiring was a member of the executive team at Keystart Home Loans. 

Deputy Mayor MacManus' volunteer involvement has included holding many executive positions. He is currently Chairman of the Lions Alzheimer's Foundation which supports the research work of world-renowned Professor Ralph Martins.

Deputy Mayor MacManus has also been a member of the Claremont-Nedlands Lions club for thirty-seven years and has been awarded Lions highest recognition, the Melvin Jones award. Additionally, Deputy Mayor MacManus is a life member, past President and currently Vice-President of the Claremont-Nedlands Cricket Club, member and Treasurer of the Claremont St Vincent de Paul Society and a member of the St Thomas Claremont parish council and Nedlands RSL.
