Bushcare Big Day Out – Allen Park

The Friends of Allen Park invite you to join them on a spring walk along the Bush to Beach trail from the top of Jameson Street to the beach where morning tea will be served. Spring Walk Allen Park Bushland

Spring guided bushwalk through Allen Park, Swanbourne. This is a 1-way walk, starting promptly at 9am, meeting at the limestone wall at the entry to the bushland off Jameson Street (at the Cul-de-Sac). The walk will take in recent restoration work undertaken by the volunteers and the walk will lead over the elevated dune, Melon Hill which has 360 degree views to the city and Rottnest Island. The walk will finish around 10.30am, at Swanbourne Beach where a morning tea will be provided. For catering purposes, please RSVP by Wednesday 1st September.

Plastics in the Indian Ocean with Repair Lab

PLASTICS IN THE INDIAN OCEAN With many of us aware of the ‘Great Pacific Garbage Patch’, we focus on plastic in our local Indian Ocean for our June Branchmeeting. We welcome UWA Professor Anas Ghadouani, leader of the AquaticEcology and Ecosystem Studies ResearchGroup, and Alison Dorn from Tangaroa Blue, the Australian organisation dedicated to the removal and prevention of marine debris. Come and learn how Tangaroa Blue has used the analysis of plastic from over 15,000 beach clean-ups to reduce plastic waste entering the ocean.

Hollywood Reserve Dalkeith

Come and help the Friends of Hollywood Reserve on Sunday 13 November from 9 am to 12 noon undertake activities to conserve the bushland.  Meet at the main entrance near the junction of Karella Street and Boronia Avenue. Morning tea provided at 10.30am.

The Friends of Allen Park Bushland Group are holding their Annual General Meeting on Friday November 4 at Matty Furphy House in Allen Park, beginning with refreshments at 6 pm.
