We sat down with third-generation business owner, Damon Ezekiel to discuss the business:
How has COVID impacted your business?
Ezekiel Eyes was classified as an essential service throughout COVID. Damon and his colleague Felix came into the practice 3 days a week just for emergencies. This was in place for the first 6 or so weeks, and then the moved back into the practice full time and everyone has begun booking appointments, so they are feeling as though things are back to normal.
What does your business provide for the community?
"Quality of life and vision is the way we look at it. We are not just an optometrist, we are problem solvers for patients, we see babies from Perth Children’s Hospital who are born with cataracts which can be really challenging for the parents. We also create lots of specialist contact lenses for our patients too."
How did you start your business, and how long have you had the business?
Damon is the third generation within the business. His grandfather started the business and passed away in 1984, with three of his patients still seeing Damon. The business was then passed on to Damon’s father, before being passed on to Damon. The business has been located on Hampden Road for almost 12 years.
The practice is open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, half a day on Wednesday and every second Saturday from 8am-11am.
