The Heritage of Western Australia Act 1990 requires all local governments to compile a Municipal Inventory (MI). The City of Nedlands MI was orginally compiled in 1999 and adopted in 2001. An updated version of the Municipal Inventory was endorsed by Council in October 2018.  A full copy of the document, including individual Place Records, is available for viewing at the City’s Administration Building or the Nedlands Library.

The City also has a Heritage List containing a small number of properties that have statutory protection under the planning framework. Further information about the Heritage List can be found in the document available for download below.

The State Register of Heritage Places is a statutory list of places that have been assessed by the Heritage Council of WA and are considered to have cultural heritage significance for Western Australia. There are a number of State-listed places within the City of Nedlands. The State Register also has a search function.
