Mt Claremont Farmer's Market

A popular meeting place for locals and visitors, offering farm fresh produce and artisan stalls to the people of Perth since 2007.  Shop in the outdoors, sample the delicious seasonal produce, soak up some community vibes and enjoy a casual breakfast with friends.

You can stock up on organic and heirloom vegetables, just-picked fruits and nuts from the orchard, premium meats and seafoods, biodynamic olive oils, unprocessed honey, pastured eggs, artisan breads and more!  The Market caters for special dietary requirements such as vegan, paleo, gluten free and dairy free.  Complementary stalls include organic body and cleaning products, eco-friendly food wraps, plants and fresh cut flowers.  Our decked area is popular with breakfast goers - hot food stalls include bacon and egg wraps, sweet and savoury crepes, and barista coffee.  There’s also popular Nitro cold brew and a wide variety of raw cold-pressed juices.  Kids love the nature playgrounds where parents can gather for a chat under one of the school’s shady trees.  Open rain, hail or shine on Saturdays from 7:30am to 11:30am.

How has COVID impacted your business?
"The Market was closed for 14 weeks!  It was a tough time for our stallholder businesses and we continued to provide regular updates and support with social media campaigns, which included alternative pickup arrangements.  There was no school fundraising during the shutdown period.  We reopened on 27 June 2020 with additional risk control measures in place and almost all of our stallholders (and volunteers) returned.  A couple have moved to online ordering full-time or at least until the pandemic ends."

What does your business provide for the community?
"The Market provides a relaxed and friendly outdoor environment to shop and connect with the local community.  It offers a unique opportunity to chat directly with growers and producers about how their products are grown or made.  The playground areas provide entertainment for the children while the adults sit back and enjoy coffee and a bite to eat.  In addition to fundraising for the school, the Market regularly donates to local charities and community groups and provides a drop off point for plastics recycling."

How did you start your business, and how long have you had the business?
"The Market is successfully operated by the Mount Claremont Primary School P&C and is governed by a Charter. It all started in 2007 with just a handful of stalls and quickly grew in popularity. It now hosts approximately 50 stalls each week and is one of the longest running community based markets in Perth."
