The City has been advised by the Kings Park and Botanic Gardens Authority that a small, controlled fire will be carried out as part of scientific research into managing bushfire risks and protecting the natural environment.
The low intensity fire is expected to last up to five hours beginning at 11am on a day between 27 April and 31 May 2022. The date of the burn will be confirmed at 9am on the day of the fire, as suitable weather and safety conditions are imperative.
The appropriate fire appliances will be in place for the duration of the fire with the site being monitored until the fire is completely extinguished.
