New charging station a bonus for Nedlands Library

If you haven’t been to the City of Nedlands’ Libraries in Nedlands and Mt Claremont lately, the coming school holidays could be just the time to get re-acquainted.

The most recent innovative addition to the library’s facilities is the free charging station for phones and small devices.  The new station, situated in the main hall of the library, has capacity to re-charge up to eight phones simultaneously, providing a quick remedy for a flat battery.

The City’s libraries are also increasing their reach with electronic communications such as e-newsletters and online services, and online resources such as eMagazines, eAudiobooks and eBooks through the Overdrive/Libby App, eBooks for children through the StoryBox Library and eMovies via Kanopy.

As the new Digital Services Librarian, Sarah Lucas has been working with library members to help them get greater use from their mobile phones including demonstrations on how to download proof of COVID vaccinations.  Sarah is also looking at a range of ideas for new digital services.

Sarah has qualifications in Library Studies, Linguistics and the German language plus a wealth of knowledge in digital technology, community service and local government.

For more information on school holiday activities, or digital services, please call into your nearest library at Nedlands or Mount Claremont, or visit: nedlands.wa.gov.au/libraries.
