Noticeboards on notice: feedback wanted

Do you find the City of Nedlands’ noticeboards useful?

The City is testing the effectiveness of noticeboards in certain locations and wants to know if you benefit from the information placed on them – and, if not, should they stay or should they go?

Seven noticeboards are being reviewed, located at:

  • Carrington Park, Nedlands
  • Mt Claremont Community Centre
  • Allen Park, Swanbourne
  • Lawler Park, Floreat
  • Dalkeith Hall
  • College Park, Nedlands
  • Nedlands river foreshore (near the skate park).

A short survey at Your Voice Nedlands asks if you are aware of the noticeboards, whether you view the information on them and how often, how useful the information is and whether removing any of the noticeboards would be a concern.

City of Nedlands CEO Greg Trevaskis said the review was prompted by the fact several of the noticeboards were becoming rundown and in need of repair.

“The majority were installed about 10 years ago and the way people gain their information now has rapidly changed in that time,” he said.

“Before we embark on possible repairs for the noticeboards, we need to see if they’re actually being utilised.

“The bottom line is that there’s no point repairing them if they aren’t being used.

“But if feedback shows people find the information useful and frequently look at the noticeboards, we will then start exploring a repair program.”

The noticeboard survey closes 30 April.
