City rates are a contribution each ratepayer makes towards the cost of providing facilities and services to the Community. These services include roads, parks, sports grounds, recreational facilities, aged care facilities, libraries, arts and events programs.
For further information on how rates are calculated and who pays Local Government Rates and Charges, please refer to the Rates and Charges Frequently Asked Questions in the link below.
If you are a Pensioner or Senior and wish to know if you are eligible for any rates concessions, please refer to the Pensioner & Seniors Information Sheet.
You can pay your rates online using our secure payment system.
If you would like information on an alternative payment arrangement, please refer to the Payment Arrangement Information Sheet. Please read the Direct Debit Request Service Agreement before completing an Application for Direct Debit Arrangement Form or Application for Rates Payment Arrangement Form and send completed forms to the City.
Where do your rates go?
The City publishes an annual rates newsletter, Your Rates Explained, which provides details.
