We spoke with owner, Glenn Chapman about his business:

How has COVID impacted your business?
"The Village Social stayed open during the COVID period and offered take away food only. This included take home meals including our ever so popular pizzas. The take home meals have been such a success that we have not been able to stop them. The coffee machine was bought over from their other business in Mt Claremont, Deli Chicchi and all staff operated out of The Village Social."

What does your business provide for the community?
"Everyone knows everyone! This is the first time that this community has had somewhere that they can go and sit down and have a meal in the evening.
The Village Social is exactly what it says in the name, the social hub for Mt Claremont and surrounding suburbs. It is truly a place to meet and enjoy down time with family and friends old and new. We now open Wednesday to Sunday from 4pm and 2pm on weekends. Locals can have a bar or restaurant meal with a glass of wine, cold beer or fresh coffee in a relaxing yet vibrant atmosphere. The best thing is the place can be full and there are hardly any cars! Tables can be booked via our website."

How did you start your business, and how long have you had the business?
Glenn and his wife, Denise created the Village Social (previously the Village Pantry) as a new space, and has been running for about 16 months now.
