ROAD UPGRADES

NEDLANDS – SMYTH ROAD (Between Abadere Road and Gordon Street)

Rehabilitation works will begin on Smyth Road on Monday, 27 March and are expected to be completed by the start of June.

DM Roads has been contracted by the City of Nedlands to carry out the works, from Aberdare to Carrington Street between 7am – 5pm on weekdays.

The City of Nedlands is asking residents and road users to prepare for traffic disruptions during these times. Access along Smyth Road could be limited while works are carried out. The City of Nedlands will attempt to provide residents with local access and alternative routes for motorists in the event of partial road closures. Road resealing, footpath and kerb upgrades are part of the planned works. DM Roads will be capping reticulation during the instillation of new kerbing. The City of Nedlands requests that homeowners test and report any issues relating to irrigation to DM Roads within two weeks of reinstation.

For further information or to contact the City’s Representative Peter Gaitskell on 9273 3500 or via email pgaitskell@nedlands.wa.gov.au.

MOUNT CLAREMONT - ROCHDALE ROAD (Between Alfred Road and Haldane Street)

The City will be completing road rehabilitation works on both these sections of road in the coming months.

The first stage of this project involves pavement-testing works on both these sections of road between:

7pm - 7am, Tuesday 14 February to Friday 17 February 2023.

The works will include traffic management and drilling of multiple boreholes in the roadway for sampling. As a result of these works there will be lights and noise from the coring machinery. The holes will be reinstated prior to opening the roadway. The City apologises for any inconvenience as part of these roadworks. Local traffic will continue to have access whilst closures are in place, however there may be short delays along both Rochdale and Smyth Roads. The traffic team on site will endeavour to offer access to your property at all times.

The City of Nedlands considers that the works to be undertaken will be of mutual benefit for Ratepayers, Businesses and road users of the City, and your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Should you have any further enquiries, please contact the City’s Representative, Peter Gaitskell on (08) 9273 3500.
