Smyth Road (Between Aberdere Road and Carrington Street) - COMPLETE

All works are now complete.

Rochdale Road, Between Alfred Road and Haldane Street - COMPLETE

Update as of 2 February 2024

All works are now complete.

Lemnos Street (Brockway Road to Bedbrook Place) - SCHEDULED 

Update as of 4 April 2024.

This project will involve significant improvements to the road surface, kerb, drainage, and more.

The benefits of the project include;

  • Improved Road Safety
  • Address aging road infrastructure
  • Minimise Maintenance costs

The construction work is scheduled for the below periods.

Weekday works between late April to mid June. The works will be a mix of day and night works to be confirmed closer to the starting date.

 

However, please be aware that adverse weather conditions may necessitate adjustments to the proposed completion dates.

The scope of work includes

  1. Demolition and installation of new kerbs and footpaths.
  2. Replacement of crossovers and aprons to meet the City's specifications.
  3. Drainage upgrades
  4. Removal and replacement of the existing road surface to address any issues.
  5. Temporary line marking before Main Roads installs permanent markings.

Broadway between Stirling Highway and Princess Road - IN PROGRESS

Update as of 12 January 2024.

We would like to inform you that the City of Nedlands has contracted 'WCP Civil PTY LTD' to undertake the rehabilitation of Broadway between STIRLING Highway and PRINCESS Avenue on the NORTHBOUND lane only. The south bound lane will remain open for parking and business access. This project will involve significant improvements to the road surface, kerb, guttering, footpaths, and more.

The construction work is scheduled for the below periods.

Stirling Highway and Edward Street

  • Weekend day works only between Saturday 17 Feb 2024 – early April between the hours of 7.00am and 6.00pm on Saturdays only.

Broadway between Edward Street and Princess Road

    • Weekday day works between Monday 19 February – early April between the hours of 7.00am and 6.00pm.

However, please be aware that adverse weather conditions may necessitate adjustments to the proposed completion dates.

The scope of work includes

  1. Demolition and installation of new kerbs and footpaths.
  2. Replacement of crossovers and aprons to meet the City's specifications.
  3. Drainage upgrades to soakwells.
  4. Removal and replacement of the existing road surface to address any issues.
  5. Temporary line marking before Main Roads installs permanent markings.

Traffic Management will be installed for the duration of the project and detour will be in place. Unfortunately, there will be delays and the City advises to seek alternate routes for the duration of the project. The detour for the works will be Eastbound on Princess Road, down to Hackett Drive and up to the intersection at Striling Hwy.

Swanbourne Reserve Contaminated Site - IN PROGRESS

Update as of 12 January

Remediation works on the site are now complete, and the reclassification of the site is being progressed with the Department of Water and Environment Regulations (DWER). The City look forward to mulching and planting the site in the next planting season in collaboration with the Coastwest Grants Program and the Melon Hill Bushland Group.
