 Demolitions

Demolition of Hackett Hall | IN PROGRESS

Update as of 19 November 2025

The City of Nedlands began demolition of Hackett Hall in Lawler Park (8 Draper Street, Floreat) on Wednesday, 19 November 2025.

Brajkovich Demolition & Salvage (BDS) have been engaged to carry out the works, which will take place Monday to Saturday between 7:00am and 5:00pm. The demolition is expected to be completed by 19 December 2025, weather and site conditions permitting.

All asbestos removal at the site was completed earlier by BDS in full compliance with the relevant regulations and guidelines, and a Licensed Asbestos Assessor issued a clearance certificate confirming the building is safe for demolition. With all asbestos removed and independently cleared, the upcoming demolition works do not pose any asbestos-related risk to residents or the surrounding area.

During the demolition period, there may be some noise, dust, and short-term access impacts. Please avoid the area where active demolition work is taking place. The City will continue to work closely with the contractor to minimise disruption wherever possible.

If you have any questions about the project, please contact the City of Nedlands Project Manager, Leah Riungu-Kalliosaari on (08) 9273 3500.
