Weddings 

Wedding ceremonies may be held on some reserves in the City of Nedlands, with City approval, however, wedding receptions are not permitted in any buildings or on any reserves managed by the City. 

The following parks and reserves are recommended for wedding ceremonies: 

  • Point Resolution Reserve, Dalkeith 
  • Bishop Road Reserve, Dalkeith 
  • Peace Memorial Rose Gardens, Nedlands. 

Applications to book a reserve for a wedding ceremony can be made through the City’s booking system on SpacetoCo. The application will then be assessed by the City, and the applicant must receive a formal notification of approval before the event can go ahead. 

Parties 

The City’s buildings and reserves may also be booked for other special occasions, celebrations or social events, however, the City does not allow private parties to serve alcohol in any City managed building or reserve.  

Incorporated clubs and groups, from within the City, that are long-term, regular users of a City-managed facility may provide alcohol at their events, provided they have the appropriate licence and City approval. 

16th-21st birthday celebrations are not permitted in City of Nedlands halls, parks or reserves.

Applications for approval must be submitted to the City at least four (4) weeks before the booking date. 

Activities that require approval include: 

  • Open to the public
  • > 200 people
  • External provider/s (caterers, food trucks, vendors, amusement providers)
  • Road closure or temporary suspension of road rules
  • Consumption or sale of alcohol
  • Trading in a public place
  • Vehicle entry onto a reserve
  • Noise impacts
  • Wedding ceremony (note: no bookings for wedding receptions on City land)
  • Temporary structure/s (e.g. marquees, staging, amusement equipment, portable toilets)
  • Parking, traffic management or transport plan required
  • Fireworks or other pyrotechnics
  • Commercial filming
  • Helicopter Landings
  • Electrical installations (e.g. generators).

Applications to book a hall or reserve can be made through the City’s booking system on SpacetoCo.

The application will then be assessed by the City, and the applicant must receive a formal notification of approval before the event can go ahead.
