Community Involvement

How can you help the environment?

  • Join a City of Nedlands bushland ‘Friends of’ group such as the Friends of Shenton Bushland, Friends of Allen Park Bushland Group, Friends of Hollywood Reserve, Friends of Point Resolution and the Swanbourne Coastal Alliance.   See contact information below for the City’s ‘Friends of’ groups;
  • Participate in the annual WESROC Native Plant Subsidy Scheme.  WESROC residents can purchase subsided plants to green their private land or Council verge;
  • Retain as much native vegetation on your property as possible to assist in expanding green areas, providing habitat for pollinators and protecting and enhancing your local urban forest;
  • Help spread the word by educating your children and friends about the importance of retaining native vegetation; and
  • Reduce your carbon footprint, and water and energy consumption.
