Biography 

Elected to the City of Nedlands Council in October 2003.

Councillor Ben Hodsdon is focused on the City of Nedlands developing a sustainable urban greenspace. Councillor Hodsdon is a passionate advocate for the enhancement of the City’s tree canopy and the completion of the City’s Underground Power Project. As Chair of the Public Arts committee, Councillor Hodsdon has been pivotal in the commissioning of new artwork that recognizes the dedication of health workers throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Professionally Councillor Hodsdon has enjoyed a successful career in education, teaching mathematics at the Western Australian Institute of Technology (now Curtin University), Christ Church Grammar School, Wesley College, and Workshop College in the United Kingdom. He is driven to create opportunities for students through work-based based learning.

In his spare time Councillor Hodsdon runs a successful café in Northbridge and proactively supports Amnesty International and the Bibbulmum Track Foundation. He also has an interest in current affairs and the rights of the individual.
