Primary Prevention Workshop
3–3.5 hours
This skills‑building workshop introduces the core concepts of family and domestic violence (FDV) primary prevention — stopping violence before it begins.
Participants will explore how gender inequality, social norms, and power imbalances contribute to FDV, and learn practical strategies to address these drivers in everyday settings.
Through guided discussion, reflection, and interactive activities, you will:
Understand the underlying gendered drivers of FDV and how they operate across systems, communities, and relationships.
Recognise opportunities to prevent violence before it starts, using evidence‑based primary prevention frameworks.
Explore your role in cultural and societal change, including how to challenge harmful norms safely and constructively.
Develop confidence as an active bystander, learning simple, practical actions that support safety, respect, and equality.
This course is grounded and aligned with the 10 Guiding Principles of the FDV Code of Practice, strengthening collective responsibility and building community capability for long-term change.
