Harris Park playground upgrade
The City of Nedlands is planning an upgrade to the playground at Harris Park, Swanbourne, scheduled for the summer of 2025/26. This upgrade aims to improve the functionality of the play space and ensure all equipment complies with current Australian safety standards.
As part of the upgrade, the proposed designs will feature a combination of rubberised soft fall for improved accessibility and white sand for play. While shade sails are not included in this specific project, the City is committed to enhancing shade in the area through tree planting. Some shade elements may also be incorporated into the play equipment itself.
Community input is a key part of this process.
Local families and community members are invited to complete a short survey to help shape the future of Harris Park Playground. Feedback collected will inform the development of several concept designs, which will be shared with the community for voting. The results of the community vote will play a major role in selecting the final design.
We encourage regular users of Harris Park and its playground to participate, although the survey is open to everyone.
