Residents in the City of Nedlands may experience damaging winds, heavy rainfall, and possible flash flooding starting Friday 27 March as Cyclone Narelle continues to intensify and track south. While the exact path is still uncertain, residents should prepare themselves and their homes to ensure our community’s safety.
PREPARE
Now is the time to get your home and property ready:

Secure, tie down, or bring inside loose outdoor items such as furniture, toys or garden tools.

If you live in a flooding prone area, purchase or prepare sandbags to protect your home.

Prepare for potential power outages. Prepare flashlights and ensure you have back-up batteries. Charge your essential technology/equipment now.

Keep emergency kits and essentials handy (water, snacks, first aid). Put essential medications inside your emergency kit.

Stay off the roads during severe wind and rain where possible. Car accidents are common in severe weather.
