The City of Nedlands is pleased to announce the appointment of William (Bill) Parker as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), for a term of three (3) years commencing July 2022.

Bill joined the City in July 2021 at a difficult time of high staff and executive turnover, but spent his interim period working with the City’s Elected Members and new executive leadership team to commence rebuilding the City.

In a short time, the City has implemented a new governance framework and is in the process of implementing a new workforce plan with asset management plans for all major asset classes.

Bill has worked in local government for 18 years, across five local government organisations in a range of positions and disciplines including project management, customer service, records management, property administration, finance, strategy, technology and general management.

Prior to his current position with the City of Nedlands, Bill was General Manager of Corporate Services at the City of Perth and Chief Executive Officer at the Shires of Jerramungup and Denmark in the Great Southern region.

City of Nedlands Deputy Mayor Leo McManus congratulated Bill on his appointment saying he is an asset to the City.

“While the recruiting period may have been a bit longer than usual, we are pleased that it has now been successful.”
