The City of Nedlands is proud to recognise and celebrate the invaluable contribution of volunteers during National Volunteer Week. This includes volunteers who call the City home, as well as those who travel from outside the area to support our local programs, services, and events.
Volunteering is a way of life for many Western Australians, and the City is fortunate to be supported by dedicated individuals who generously give their time, skills, and energy to strengthen the local community. Their commitment reflects this year’s National Volunteer Week theme, “Your Year to Volunteer,” which encourages all Australians to discover the joy and impact of volunteering.
With the support of volunteers, the City delivers an extensive range of programs and services that enrich community life. These include book clubs, language groups, environmental initiatives, tech help sessions, Justice of the Peace services, children’s and youth activities, local history projects, art courses and exhibition support at Tresillian Arts Centre, and a variety of Positive Ageing programs.
Volunteers also play an essential role in supporting older residents by providing transport for weekly shopping and library visits, as well as delivering books to community members who are unable to leave their homes.
Through their dedication, volunteers help build a connected, inclusive, and vibrant City of Nedlands - one where people of all ages can learn, participate, and thrive.
Community members inspired to make this their year to volunteer are encouraged to contact the City’s Volunteer Services team on 9273 3500 and can also visit Volunteering » City of Nedlands for more information and to view current opportunities/vacancies.
