Point Resolution Childcare Centre (PRCC) opened in 1983 and is owned and operated by the City of Nedlands in accordance with the license granted by the Regulatory Authority.

Our service is a valued part of the local City of Nedlands community and educators have well-developed and meaningful connections with families and children. Our centre

Our Centre is a community-based centre, which has had an important place in our local neighbourhood. The Centre is a unique converted home, offering children a warm and home-like environment.

It is licensed for 26 children per day. We cater to children aged from seven months to six years and are open Monday – Friday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.

As a not-for-profit Childcare Service, we have children at the heart of everything we do. We employ qualified educators and maintain ratios above the legal minimums, supporting us to provide high-quality education and care.

We believe in mixed-aged settings, as the children develop differently and learn from being around younger children and older children. We have age-appropriate activities where we work with separate age groups.

Our educational programs are specifically designed to help children function independently and happily in a stimulating and secure environment, where they can build success for life.

Meals

Our nutritious and well-balanced meals are prepared at the centre by the Nominated Supervisor in accordance with the ‘Get UP and Grow’ guidelines.

Seasonal rotating menus are designed to consider children’s likes and dislikes and consist of morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late snack, all of which are prepared daily, including the provision of water and/or milk.

We endeavour to meet specific dietary requirements and work closely with families to ensure inclusiveness for all.

Program

We provide high-quality early education programs for children in a safe, secure, challenging and nurturing environment that is rich, flexible and encourages learning, curiosity, creativity and exploration for all age groups

Our centre provides children unique opportunities to learn and play in a mixed-age group environment. The mixed-age environment assists children to nurture their social and emotional skills through connecting and respecting each other.

At PRCC, children are the leaders of their own learning. Our program has been developed to create a variety of experiences for children to have their input and explore decision-making capabilities. We believe that this encourages children to use their voices and share opinions about what they would like to do and what they would like to learn. We strongly believe that this approach allows each child to shine, show their uniqueness, feel valued and respected.

Kindy & Pre Kindy

Our Centre offers a Kindy and Pre Kindy program for children from three to five years of age. Our programs are carefully designed by our Ealy Childhood Teacher who develops a curriculum that is not only in line with the Early Years Learning Framework but one that also complements the National School Curriculum.

Our programs are a rich and stimulating experience that provides a range of important opportunities that not only prepare your child for school but also for life.

Our program is for children in the year before they start primary school. Our play-based approach emphasises learning through exploration, investigation, and opportunities to practice problem-solving, thinking skills, creativity and lateral thinking.

The educational program focuses on the importance of developing life skills in preparation for entering school. We provide children opportunities to practice independence, socialisation and self-help skills.
