The nomination period for the review of the City of Nedlands' Local Heritage Survey and Local Heritage List closed in June, with an impressive 66 place nominations received from the community.
The City extends its appreciation to everyone who contributed to the process by submitting nominations, attending information sessions, and providing feedback. Community participation plays an important role in identifying, recognising, and documenting places that contribute to the heritage, character, and identity of Nedlands.
The project has now moved into the research and assessment phase, with the City and its appointed heritage consultants reviewing nominations and undertaking detailed investigations.
Later this year, the community will have a further opportunity to contribute when the draft Local Heritage Survey and draft Local Heritage List are released for public consultation. Residents, landowners, and interested community members will be invited to review the draft documents and provide feedback to help inform the future of local heritage conservation in Nedlands.
