Tresillian Arts Centre proudly presents From Egypt to Japan and Everything in Between, a vibrant solo exhibition by two-time Mandorla Youth Art Award winner Julian Poon (St John of God acquisition prizes, 2012 and 2014).

Poon, an autistic artist, creates work shaped by the subjects that bring him joy, structure and wonder. This exhibition offers an immersive journey through his rich inner world, informed by travel, faith, imagination and the intensity of his interests.

His practice brings together the inspirations that define his creative universe: the epic mythology of Star Wars, the imagery and narratives of the Bible, and the places he has explored. Recent travels to Egypt and Japan have expanded his visual vocabulary, inspiring new works that delve into ancient cultures, spiritual symbolism and the sensory experience of place.

Through this body of work, Poon celebrates neurodivergent ways of seeing and interpreting the world. His artworks invite audiences into a space where faith, fantasy and real‑life adventure intersect, offering a compelling and imaginative perspective on the stories and environments that shape him.
