Illegal Dumping of Nitrous Oxide Canisters

The City of Nedlands has become aware of a significant and growing number of nitrous oxide canisters being illegally dumped in and around the vicinity of the Perth Flying Squadron Yacht Club in Dalkeith. The City is taking this matter seriously and is calling on the community for assistance in identifying those responsible.

The illegal disposal of these canisters poses a risk to public safety and the local environment. Residents and visitors are reminded that the improper dumping of hazardous materials is a serious offence under Western Australian law.

Illegal dumping of hazardous canisters constitutes an offence under Section 49A of the Environmental Protection Act 1986 and Section 23 of the Litter Act 1979. Individuals or entities found responsible may be subject to significant penalties.

The City's Ranger team is actively monitoring the area and working to address this issue. 

If you witness any suspicious activity or observe individuals disposing of nitrous oxide canisters inappropriately, please do not intervene - contact the City's Ranger team immediately. Your assistance and support is highly appreciated.
