A new native garden has been established at Mount Claremont Community Centre, creating an attractive and educational feature for the local community to enjoy.

This week, the City's Parks team planted a variety of native species including Dianella, Melaleuca, Acacia, Lomandra, Scaevola and Myoporum as part of the Remy the Rock Snake garden project.

The garden showcases a range of Australian native plants commonly featured in bush tucker gardens and highlights the diversity and beauty of Western Australia's natural environment. Many of the species selected are recognised for their cultural significance and practical uses, including traditional bush foods and natural crafting materials.

As the garden continues to establish, interpretive signage will be installed to help visitors learn more about the different plant species and their role within Australia's unique ecosystems.

The project will provide an engaging outdoor learning opportunity for community members and visitors while contributing to the centre's natural landscape.
