North-east Section of Shenton Bushland Remains Closed
The north-eastern section of Shenton Bushland that was burnt in the unplanned bush fire on the 26 February remains closed for safety reasons. City staff will action a clean-up of asbestos through the burnt zone. The community are requested to avoid the area and use alternative access routes along Lemnos Street safe until the area is safe to reenter.
The City continues to work with DFES and Western Australia Police to investigate the incident. The cause of the fire is still unknown, and people are asked to report any suspicious behaviour to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
