Swanbourne-Nedlands Surf Life Saving Club upgrade gets started

Upgrades to the Swanbourne-Nedlands Surf Life Saving Clubrooms have moved a step closer with the Tender for Works being awarded to Swan Group WA.

City of Nedlands Mayor, Fiona Argyle, Patron of the Swanbourne-Nedlands SLSB said the new improved clubrooms will be an amazing boost for the Club, its members and local beachgoers in general.

“I congratulate the President, office bearers and members of the Club for their tireless efforts in bringing this issue to the City of Nedlands Council and working with us to see the upgrades come to fruition.

“We’re also delighted the Federal and State Governments have supported this project.

As well as financial support, the City is also supporting this project by managing and supervising the construction elements of the build,” Mayor Argyle said.

With the total cost of the project being $2,579,000, the City acknowledges and thanks all of the project contributors;

  • Federal Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications
  • State Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries
  • LotteryWest
  • Swanbourne-Nedlands Surf Life Saving Club, and the
  • City of Nedlands

Successful tenderers, Swan Group WA Pty Ltd were chosen from a competitive field of builders. Work will commence in June 2022 for a completion date late in February 2023.
