Western Power Brockway Road works in July

Published on Monday, 13 July 2026 at 11:19:30 AM

Throughout July, Western Power are removing out-of-service pilot cables along Brockway Road in Mount Claremont. Pilot cables are communication cables that run alongside power lines.

They don’t supply electricity to homes or businesses. Instead, they carry signals that help monitor and manage the electricity network.

These cables have already been replaced with newer, more advanced communication systems. Removing infrastructure that’s no longer in use helps keep your neighbourhood tidy and supports a safer, more reliable network for everyone.

There are no planned power outages associated with this work.

When they'll be there

Works will take place in sections along Brockway Road from 7am-5pm:

  • The Avenue to Alfred Road: 13 – 14 July
  • Alfred Road to Stubbs Terrace: 28 July
  • Lemnos Street to The Avenue:  29 – 30 July
  • Underwood Avenue to Lemnos Street: 11 – 14 August

What you may notice

  • Some noise from work activities
  • Traffic management in place along sections of Brockway Road, including minor traffic delays
