Commissioners, at the Ordinary Council Meeting on 28 january 2026, adopted amendments to the Street Trees Council Policy

The Policy is available to view online via the City’s website.

Copies can also be viewed at the City’s Administration Building located at 71 Stirling Highway, Nedlands, WA 6009.

The revised Street Trees Policy outlines how the City of Nedlands will manage and protect street trees to support a healthy, functional and attractive urban environment.

It aims to increase tree canopy cover, clearly define when tree pruning or removal may be appropriate, and enhance the quality of local streetscapes.

This Policy applies to all trees owned or managed by the City of Nedlands. It will assist the City in progressing towards a greener future by increasing tree numbers and canopy coverage, in line with the Urban Forest Strategy 2025–2035.
