Council Adoption and WAPC Endorsement of the Scheme Review Report

The City of Nedlands is undertaking a review of its Local Planning Strategy and Local Planning Scheme No.3. In June 2025, the Scheme Review Report was presented to Council and adopted, formally initiating the review process. This report provided a comprehensive audit of the existing Scheme and Strategy, identifying areas that require updates or improvements. It also assesses how well the current documents align with the Planning and Development Act 2005 and broader changes in the Western Australian planning framework.

On the 23 October 2025, the WAPC considered the Scheme Review Report and under regulation 67 of the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015, and agreed with the recommendations of the report. A copy of this report can be found under the documents section of this webpage. The City will now proceed with Phase 2 – Preparing the Local Planning Strategy.

Community engagement is a key part of this process. As we move forward, we encourage residents and stakeholders to stay informed and get involved.
