Herbicide Application Notification

Published on Thursday, 2 July 2026 at 8:00:00 AM

From July through September 2026, the City of Nedlands will be carrying out broadleaf weed control across grassed parkland areas throughout the City. These treatments form part of the City’s regular maintenance program to keep public open spaces functional, safe, and visually appealing.

The treatment will be undertaken by licensed contractors; in accordance with the product label instructions & Health (Pesticides) Regulations 2011. All operations will be monitored by City officers, who will also assist the public with any questions. Due to the unpredictable nature of weather conditions, exact spraying dates cannot be confirmed in advance.

All signage required under the Health (Pesticides) Regulations 2011 will be clearly displayed for the duration of the application. The City requests that the public refrain from entering treatment areas while signage is displayed. Once the treated surfaces have dried sufficiently, signage will be removed and the area will be reopened for public access.

The product to be applied is a weed specific selective herbicide consisting of the active constituents:

  • 15g/L Diflufenican, 20 g/L Clopyralid, 300g/L MCPA.
