Western Power Decommissioning Works | Removal of poles and conductors
Western Power is working to decommission the obsolete 66kV transmission line from Western Terminal in Mount Claremont to Cottesloe Substation.
They will be working to remove overhead transmission poles and conductors in Jameson Street (between Iolanthe Street, Hooley Street, Swansea Street, Lynton Street and Wood Street) in Swanbourne.
These works will be conducted during the day between the hours of 7:00am and 3:00pm between Monday 14th July and Friday 18th July.
What to expect during the works
- Traffic management to safely manage traffic flow
- Western Power vehicle movements on the street
- Safety exclusion zones around verges, footpaths, and parking areas
- Some of the work may be noisy, dusty, and cause some vibration.
Road closures and traffic management
Traffic management will be in place for the duration of the works. Please be mindful of these
changes to traffic conditions and follow the directions of the traffic controllers. Please take care
around the work area and follow the instructions to keep everyone safe.
What do I need to do?
To ensure Western Power can carry out this work safely and efficiently, we ask that residents do not park their vehicles along Jameson Street during next week (Monday 14th to Friday 18th July).
This includes both sides of the road and the verge, because Western Power's team have large vehicles that need this space during the works.
Thank you for your patience while this work is being done.
Power outages
Western Power does not anticipate any disruptions to residents’ power during the works.
