Open for Comment: Draft Amended Local Planning Policy 1.3 Sustainable Design
Published on Monday, 18 August 2025 at 11:07:03 AM
The City of Nedlands is seeking comment on draft amendments to Local Planning Policy 1.3 – Sustainable Design - Residential. These amendments introduce a points-based assessment matrix to guide the installation of sustainable initiatives on new residential development. To achieve this, the policy will need to undergo significant reformatting, a broadening of scope, an increase in choice of sustainable initiatives as well as the categorisation of initiatives based on development scale. The Policy will be open for public comment until 5pm 26 September 2025.
City Officers will be available on 1 September 2025 from 4pm to 6pm in the Council Chambers at 71 Stirling Highway to answer any questions. Please note that there is no presentation at this session. It is an after-hours opportunity to speak with a City Officer about the proposal, and you do not have to attend the entire time. Due to limited space, it is important that you please RSVP via the Amended LPP1.3 Sustainable Design – Residential Your Voice page if you wish to attend.
Otherwise, you may contact the City’s Strategic Planning Department to discuss the proposal or arrange a separate appointment.
