2026 Mattie Furphy Short Story Competition

Do you have an unpublished short story you have been wanting to share? Now is the time to share it by entering the 2026 Mattie Furphy Short Story Competition hosted by the Fellowship of Australian Writers WA in Swanbourne. The competition is open to Australian writers 18 and over. All submissions must be previously unpublished works and no more than 3000 words. 1st prize $1000, 2nd prize $300, 3rd prize $100. Entry fee: $27 non-members, $22 members of FAWWA Closing date: 30 April 2026 11:45pm
