Award-winning artist Irene Osborne is bringing her love of Western Australia’s unique
landscapes to Nedlands’ Tresillian Arts Centre in May.

Osborne’s latest showcase, ‘Earth Stories 23’, will be on display at the Tresillian Arts Centre
from Friday, 5 May to Friday 26, May.

The exhibition features pieces that capture Western Australia’s iconic landscapes, from the
Pilbara’s red earth to the South West’s lush green forests.

“The unique Australian landscape provides me with constant inspiration,” Osborne said.

“I find it an almost spiritual experience, to be immersing myself in the landscape, to connect
with the earth, feeling at one with nature – it is my personal escape that refreshes my soul and
clears my mind.

“To me art and the landscape are interconnected.”

Osborne is a professional artist with more than 40 years’ experience.

Her revered works have been featured in exhibitions across Australia and internationally,
including the 2022 Asian Art Biennale in Bangladesh.

“As an artist, I see order in the random natural world, I am challenged by the magic way light
affects colours, shapes and shadows, driving me to try to capture and express this, through my art,” Osborne said.

“I particularly love Australia’s variety of trees, they have different characters, and stories,
they are home and shelter to wildlife, they give us clean air and are environmental indicators
of the state of the earth they grow in.

“One needs to experience a landscape to translate these aspects into an artwork with integrity."

Pieces of Osborne’s work can be purchased from the ‘Earth Stories 23’ exhibition.

‘Earth Stories 23’ will officially be opened by well-known WA artist Tony Jones OAM at
6pm, Friday, 5 May.
